30th (Trimshat) Ishta Sahita Brahmotsavamulu - Ashtalakshmi Devalayam

18-04-2026 - 5:00 AM

Our scriptures declare that the Supreme Soul-the ultimate cause of this entire universe-resides in five distinct states or abodes. The first of these is *Para*, the state in which the Lord resides as *Para Vasudeva* in His celestial abode, *Paramapada*. The second is *Vyuha*, the state in which He reclines as *Vyuha Vasudeva* upon the Ocean of Milk. The third is *Vibhava*, comprising His various incarnations (*Avatars*) such as *Matsya* (the Fish) and *Kurma* (the Tortoise). The fourth is *Antaryami*, the state in which He resides as the Inner Dweller within the hearts of all living beings. The fifth is *Archavatara*-the state in which He manifests in the form of consecrated idols (*Vigrahas*) within temples and in our own homes. Of the five states mentioned above, this *Archavatara* is the one that is most accessible and closest to us. Furthermore, it is exclusively in this *Archavatara* form that the Lord graciously accepts the devotional services we offer with love and devotion. These *Archavataras* represent instances where the Lord has manifested Himself voluntarily. Some of these shrines (such as those at Srirangam, Tirupati, etc.) were consecrated by great sages (*Rishis*), while others were established by devotees in strict accordance with the principles of *Agama Shastra*. Regardless of who performed the consecration, the worship rituals observed annually-calculated based on the specific lunar asterism (*Nakshatra*) or lunar day (*Tithi*) on which the Lord first manifested in His *Archa* form-are known as *Mahotsavams* or *Brahmotsavams*. As the *Agama Shastra* states: "*Utsute harshamiti cha tasmadeesha Mahotsavah*"meaning that a *Utsavam* (festival) is, by definition, an occasion that bestows upon us immense and boundless joy.

As if asking, "Oh Linga, have You arrived?", it is indeed our immense good fortune-a special blessing-that the Lord shines forth here as our revered presiding deity. It is a matter of great joy that 30 years have now been completed since the installation of Lord Srimannarayana, accompanied by the Ashta Lakshmis (Eight Forms of Goddess Lakshmi), at the divine hands of the most revered *Paramahamsa Parivrajakacharyas*-Sri Sri Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, Sri Sri Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, and the *Padma Vibhushan* recipient Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. Since that time, this temple has hosted numerous magnificent festivals, shining resplendently as a *Kalpataru*-a wish-fulfilling divine tree-for its devotees. These *Brahmotsavams* mark a magnificent occasion when Lord Srimannarayana, accompanied by the Ashta Lakshmis, dispels our worldly afflictions and instantly grants our cherished desires. From *Vaishakha Shuddha Padyami* to *Vaishakha Shuddha Ashtami*-specifically from Saturday, April 18, 2026, to Friday, April 24, 2026-the *Brahmotsavams*, along with *Ishti Havanas* (sacrificial rituals), will be conducted with great pomp and grandeur. These festivities will be a feast for the eyes, featuring magnificent *Vahana Utsavams* (processions of the deities on divine mounts), devotional *Sankeertanas*, traditional *Kolatam* dances, and various other artistic performances, all conducted in strict accordance with the *Sri Pancharatra Divyagamas* and under the expert guidance of the temple's Chief Priest, Sriman Maringanti Lakshminarasimhacharya Swamiji. Therefore, all devotees are cordially invited to participate in these festivities and seek the blessings of Lord Srimannarayana, accompanied by the Ashta Lakshmis. You will attain the grace of Lord Srimannarayana and attain salvation.

Shravan month celebrations

25-07-2025 - 5:30 AM To 6:00 PM

The names of the month are derived from the conjunction of the stars on the full moon day according to the lunar calendar. The month with the full moon with the Sravana star is called Shravan. Each star has a deity. The Vedas say that the Shravana star is the deity Vishnu. According to the Vedic hymn Chandram Hiranmayim Lakshmi, the form of the moon, Lakshmi Devi, and the deity Lakshmi and Narayana on the full moon day is Purnima, and the divine conjunction of the Shravana stars is Shravan. Rain is a sign of the creation that occurs due to the divine conjunction of the first couple. That is why the rainy season begins in the month of Shravan. This month of Shravan is the month of the grace of Lakshmi and Narayana. Another meaning of Shravan is listening. Hearing the sufferings of all our devotees, Amma, who especially blesses the devotees, has celebrated the Shravan month in the presence of Ashtalakshmi Sametha Srimannarayana Swamy. The Shravan month celebrations will be held with great splendor from Friday, 25-07-2025 to Saturday, 23-08-2025. Therefore, we request all the devotees to participate in this festival and obtain the blessings of Ashtalakshmi Sametha Srimannarayana Swamy.
